Today is a Good Day for a Good Day, AUCTION for Canadian Cancer Society

Today is a Good Day for A Good Day, going up for Auction February 20th, 100% proceeds being donated for Cancer Research!! Hand painted wood sign, by: Because (I Think) I Can Designs

This sign is going up for AUCTION tomorrow {Friday the 20th} at noon, on my Facebook page! I would LOOOOVVVEEE your participation!! Here is what you need to know about it:

This is my 2015 goal for myself: I plan to donate one sign a month to put up for auction. 100% of the proceeds raised through auction will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. (www.cancer.ca) …This is my “doing something small with great love”. It is my hope that over the year, together we can raise $600.00 towards cancer research. {please read on for all the info you will need}

My February donation is this 16″x24″ wood sign, “today is a good day for a good day”. I am loving this quote lately, and I know there is someone out there that needs this quote handing on their walls. This sign has been painted in Gull Grey, with Raven lettering, lightly distressed, with a painted 1″ “frame” in Raven. There is a wire hanger on the back for easy hanging.

I hope you are still all reading, because this is very close to my heart.  :)  This is how the auction process will work, so you can all participate:

I have no control over how many people my posts reach, so to reach an even wider audience, and make for a more active auction, I’ll need your help in promoting. Please like and share the auction post, spread the word, let them know 100% of proceeds are being donated to cancer, so others can participate too.

I will post this sign up for auction at NOON tomorrow, Friday the 20th. The auction will stay open for 24 hours. Last bid must be in before the 24 hours are up, Saturday afternoon at noon. Example: if I post my auction at 12:00 noon, the last and winning bid must be in by 11:59:59, before the clock strikes noon.
You can see the exact time posted when you are at your computer, and you hover your mouse over the date of my post, the exact time of posting will show up.
The minimum bid will start at $20, and bidding must increase by a minimum of 50 cents each time.

Pick up for this sign is my place, Abbotsford BC. If you need shipping as the winner, that will be on top of your winning bid.
Payment for the sign plus shipping can be made though Paypal or email money transfer. I would like the winner to pay within 24 hours, or the win might go to the next person. Shipping within Canada will be $18, and to the USA will be $27.00. If you win the bid, PLEASE message me here immediately to make arrangements.

And lastly (whew!) please share this info for anyone who needs it! Share this post, let your friends know what I’m doing, that the sign is coming up for bid, and ALL the money is being donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. If you have a friend who would like to bid, but isn’t on Facebook, maybe offer to help your friend out by bidding for her/him. My prayer is that somehow this effort makes a difference. I can’t do much, but together we can do something!

She believed she could so she did, up for auction!

She believed she could so she did

Thank you so much for your support and comments on yesterday morning’s post… this one is in continuation of that post… this is how my heart has been pulling at me, and it begins with this sign…

This is my 2015 goal for myself: I plan to donate one sign a month to put up for auction. 100% of the proceeds raised through auction will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. (www.cancer.ca) …This is my “doing something small with great love”. It is my hope that over the year, together we can raise $600.00 towards cancer research. {please read on for all the info you will need}

My first donation is this 24″x24″ wood sign, “She believed she could so she did”. Obviously, this is a quote that means a lot to me, and I know there is a woman out there that needs this quote handing on her walls. This sign has been painted in Warm White, heavily distressed, with a painted 1″ “frame” in Cast Iron. The edges have been slightly distressed. The wording is also in Cast Iron, and has been slightly distressed. There is a wire hanger on the back for easy hanging.

I hope you are still all reading, because this is very close to my heart :) This is how the auction process will work, so you can all participate if you wish:

To reach an even wider audience, I have decided to post this sign for auction on Abbotsford Bidding Wars through facebook. (https://www.facebook.com/groups/236712796450451/?fref=ts)
It is a closed group, so in order to participate, you must first join the group. If you have problems joining but would like to participate, please let me know asap. (There are quite a few rules on this site. I will mention the big ones following, however you might want to read all the rules posted at the top of the bidding wars site).

I will post this sign up for auction hopefully at noon TODAY. An auction stays open for 24 hours. Last bid must be in before the 24 hours are up. Example: if I post my auction at 12:00 noon, the last and winning bid must be in by 11:59:59, before the clock strikes noon.
To bid on this particular site, you are supposed to be able to pick up from Abbotsford. IF you need shipping, please don’t mention it there. Just know that I will collect shipping from you on top of your winning bid. In this case, Payment for the sign plus shipping can be made though Paypal, and please pay asap. Shipping within Canada will be $18, and to the USA will be $30.00. If you win the bid, and you need shipping, PLEASE email me at leanne@becauseithinkican.com, or message my Facebook page Because (I Think) I Can, immediately to make arrangements.

And lastly (whew!) please share this info for anyone who needs it! Either share this post, let your friends know what I’m doing, that the sign is coming up for bid, and ALL the money is being donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. If you have a friend who would like to bid, but isn’t on Facebook, maybe offer to help your friend out by bidding for her/him. My prayer is that somehow this effort makes a difference. I can’t do much, but I can do something!

<3 <3 <3 Thank you, and happy bidding!!

Lead Me Guide Me, hand painted prayer for 2015

Lead Me Guide Me, hand painted prayer for 2015, by: Because (I Think) I Can Designs

Instead of a New Year’s Resolution, I am on my second year of choosing a prayer for the year instead. I love this new tradition. My husband and I went into 2015 with excitement of the new year ahead, but also with nerves and anxiety of all the changes our family will be going through over the next year, plus with heavy hearts of yet another family member being diagnosed with cancer.

The song I woke up with in my head in the new year was this one: “Lead me, guide me, along the way, for if you lead me I will not stray. Lord let me walk each day with you, lead me my whole life through.”

In prayer with this song, painted and living in our bedroom so I can see it every morning, my heart has been pulled in a certain direction. Obviously, we all know cancer sucks. It has now reared it’s ugly head into mine and my husband’s families, and I’d say about 80% of the signs I am hired to paint are because of cancer in some way. So this year I plan to “do small things with great love”, because “it is better to give than to receive”. Tomorrow morning I plan to show you/tell you what I hope to do this year in response to this…

In the meantime, enjoy this post, and have a great night!

The Lord’s Prayer, family tree, custom painted, wood sign

The Lord's Prayer and Family Tree

When I paint custom sings that include words from songs, I love listening to the requested song while I create, for inspiration. For The Lord’s Prayer, Jackie Evancho’s version is by far my favorite.  To be able to sing like that… makes me wish the Lord’s Prayer was sung in church as often as we say it.
I hope you love this custom sign… I adore the family it went to, it was such an honor to paint their family tree and with the powerful words of The Lord’s Prayer.  I hope they love it, and that it lives many happy years on their walls!
Hope you all love it too!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, hand painted, word art, wood sign

let it snow, wood sign, word art

We had a downer of a weekend – one of our daughters had the flu for 3 days, and I ended up with a migraine and sore stomach for the same amount of time.  The best distraction for myself when I am dealing with/recovering from a bad headache, is to paint. I’ve had this wood board painted in Pewter and waiting for some words for awhile, so last night I painted this for above our fireplace… I don’t REALLY want it to snow, but the idea of it is nice ;)
Have a good day everyone!
